Yesterday, by way of ballot vote, we affirmed Kurt Ingram as the new RCC pastor to be. I would like to encourage you to pray, not only for RCC during this season of transition, but also for the Ingram’s as Kurt, Carol, Elijah and Gracie prepare to leave their current residence in Pennsylvania and come home to Bellingham and RCC. Pray for the church Kurt is presently serving at as they seek a new youth pastor, pray for the students Kurt’s been ministering to, that they release Kurt and bless him as he leaves. Also pray for the Ingram’s to find housing here, specifically in the Roosevelt neighborhood and within the Roosevelt School District.

I also want to thank you all for sticking with us during these past few months of hard decision making. It’s been a challenging, even painful process for everyone involved but we, as a board, feel that this direction we’re headed with Kurt is one led by the Lord.

I look forward to seeing ya’ll on Sunday.

Oh, for those of you inspired yesterday, watch this:

Last night we had a wonderful annual meeting. During that
meeting, we revealed that Kurt Ingram has been selected
as our lead pastoral candidate. (Above is Carol, Elijah,
Kurt, and Gracie). Kurt and Carol moved to Pennsylvania
3 years ago to pastor and pursue schooling. This week-
end, they’ll be in town to preach at RCC and meet you all.
After our worship service, there will be an open house at
Pastor Baron’s from 2-5pm so you all will have an oppor-
tunity to ask them questions and challenge them to feats
of strength. Then, the following Sunday, May 9, we’ll have
an official vote by paper ballot to help determine if he’ll be
officially hired. Please don’t miss this opportunity to meet
the Ingram’s.
Last night I also shared about some awesome opportunities
for 4 kids in our church to get a 4month scholarship to the
Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth (BAAY) Preschool of
the Arts. Visit www.artspreschool.com for more info. Also,
we can have 5-15 year olds get 2 scholarships a year for 2
years into their drama productions. Visit www.baay.org for
more details, including what plays they have coming up.

Annual Meeting—Don’t Forget!
Tomorrow, Tue. the 27th from 6:30-8ish we’ll have our an-
nual meeting. This is a pot-luck that will have some worship,
discussion on our budget for 10/11 fiscal year, sharing about
some opportunities for families with kids exclusive for RCC
at BAAY (Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth) and a dis-
cussion around the pastoral search process and revealing who
the board has selected to be the next pastor of RCC. This will
all be held at RCC.
Service Project Sunday Results
Everyone—fabulous job yesterday during our Service Project
Sunday. We had a great turn-out and every project was well
staffed. Rhonda’s yard got a great spring-cleaning, the Akre’s
playground got built (6 guys at 5hrs.—epic), Evergreen resi-
dents were well loved and served, our facility yard looks great,
and the lunch was a hit (thanks again kids and parents). High-
fives and knuckle-bumps to all with a few fanny-pats mixed in
for my homies.
Also, I know on Service Project Sunday’s we don’t take an of-
fering, we make an offering, the idea being that the offerings
are still made, just not on that particular Sunday. So, if you
need to make an offering still for this month, please do so at to-
morrow’s annual meeting—our budget this month is like a
wounded animal just limping along.
www.rethinkcoffee.com
Visit the above link to find out how you can get your coffee and sup-
port RCC financially at the same time. The West’s started RETHINK
COFFEE as a way to help positively impact the coffee industry
(coffee is the second most traded commodity next to oil). By buying
your coffee through RETHINK, 20% of your $29.90 purchase goes
right back to the farmers and 8% goes to RCC. Oh, that $29 coffee
purchase is 3lbs and gets shipped right to your home at no additional
cost.

Annual Meeting

On Tue. the 27th from 6:30-8ish we’ll have our annual meeting. This is a pot-luck that will have some worship, sharing/passing our budget for 10/11 fiscal year, and a discussion around the pastoral search process. This is at RCC.

Congratulations to Abe and Vale Bates!

This morning at 5am they delivered Aven Lily Bates, weighing 6lbs 7.5 oz and 19 and 1/4” in length.

Service Project Sunday This Week

Projects include:

· Building a playground kit at Bryce and Theya Akre’s. Tools to bring would be cordless drills, drill bits, wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, rubber mallet.

· Yard work at Rhonda Gray’s house. This is a yard/spring cleaning so bring the usual yard tools, minus a lawn mower. Think weeding, prun ing, trimming, gutter cleaning.

· Evergreen Rehab Center—this adult care facility is a blessing to visit and worship with the residents. This is a great option for those with real small kiddos.

· Sue Mattix will lead a spall group of folks in weeding and tending to our own RCC facility. The garden beds could use some TLC and this will bless our Hispanic hosts.

As usual, we’ll meet at RCC at 9:30 and by 10 be off to the service of your choosing. Then, at around noon-ish, the children led by Janice Haskell will provide a soup and bread lunch for us as their service project. So come out, bring a friend, practice part of being In, For, and With the community, and ultimately enjoy each others company and worshipping the Lord in the process.

A really cool piece of news.

Ok, basically, RCC has owned some lighting and sound equipment for years that has gone unused. So, I’ve negotiated a deal with BAAY (Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth) that will bless fami lies of kids at RCC. We’re going to trade our equipment to BAAY in exchange for four 4month scholarships to their preschool of the arts and scholarships for kids to be in their theatre productions—2 a year per kid for 2 years. This is over $6,000 dollars in value. If you think you may be interested, check out their 6-8 year old production of “The Wizard of Oz” this weekend for free—just RSVP via e-mail with me and I’ll have free tickets for you at will-call. The show times are Fri. at 6pm and Sat. at 2pm and 6pm and the show is about 35min. long. I’ll talk more about how this deal will work for you at our annual meeting, but until then, check out www.artspreschool.com for more info.

Pastor Baron’s Ordination Service This Sunday

This Sunday at RCC is a special service where I’ll be formally ordained—meaning I’m committing my life to vocational ministry. This will be a different service than usual with a guest speaker, Lloyd Moritz, our denominational area director.

Then, from 3-5 in the afternoon the Miller’s will host an open house where you can pop-in, say hello, offer congratulations, and east some snacks. It will mean a lot to me if you all are able to at least come to the service. Also, the rumor is that I may perform a miracle. We’ll see.
